What is FRC ?

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school robotics competition. Each year, teams of high school students and mentors around the world work during a six week period to build game-playing robots. Robots complete tasks such as scoring balls into goals and balancing robots on balance beams. The game changes yearly, keeping the excitement fresh and giving each team a more level playing field. Last year’s game theme was Steamworks.

                                           Who We Are

Our FRC Team 3739 Oakbotics was founded in 2010 at Oakridge Secondary School. And were instantly hooked. 2011 was Oakbotic's rookie year, but we were ready for the challenge and went all the was to Worlds competion in Altanta Georgia. Since then we have been working hard to continue to achevie greatness in all we do, wether its building and programming a robot, or creating presentations for sponsors we try our hardest in eveerything we do. During the 2015-16 season the team member’s enthusiasm for robots continued to flourish even after the team leaving Oakridge S.S. and becoming a community based team, going to semi-finals at the world’s hardest regional event in Waterloo, and winning the Team Spirit Award at the event. Currently, we are in the 2018 FRC season and Oakbotics has become a thriving community team.

While our main focus as a FRC team is to build a robot for the competition, we also strive to improve ourselves and our community around us wherever we go. In our community we inspire younger generations to appreciate the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Team outreach has included robot demonstrations at local elementary schools, cubs and beaver troops, Delaware speed-way and even Nuit Blanche, where we show them our robot and what it can do. Oakbotics has also volunteered at FLL (First Lego League), the Fort McMurray fundraiser and has hosted an event called Make It Loud.
